The research activity comprises the integration of robotic perception and execution mechanisms for task-oriented object manipulation in everyday environments. The (negotiable) focus is on affordance-driven object part segmentation and reinforcement learning.
The monthly gross salary is based on the FWF salary scale for doctoral candidates (https://www.fwf.ac.at/en/research-funding/personnel-costs). Note that the gross salary per month is paid 14 times per year. Furthermore, the university has numerous attractive offers (https://www.uibk.ac.at/universitaet/zusatzleistungen/).
The earliest possible starting date is November 15, 2023.
* M.Sc. degree in computer science or related areas. * Excellent academic record. * Solid background in machine learning and good understanding of robotics, and computer vision mechanisms. * Programming skills in Matlab/Python/C++. * Proficiency in writing and speaking English. * Independent problem-solving skills.
